Writers Guild announces final candidates for 2025 election

Writers Guild of America West has announced the final list of candidates for the 2025 WGAW Officers and Board of Directors election. The Officer candidates are as follows: President – Michele Mulroney; Vice President – Jeffrey Thompson, Travis Donnelly; Secretary-Treasurer – Peter Murrieta, Van Robichaux.

There are 17 candidates nominated to run for eight open seats on the Board of Directors. These candidates include Matt Ross, Marguerite MacIntyre, Rob Forman (inc.), Evan Mirzai, Myles Warden, Dahéli Hall, Jill Goldsmith, Molly Nussbaum (inc.), Gia King, Maggie Levin (inc.), Christina Walker, Elliott Kalan, Malcolm Spellman, Mike Royce, Cathryn Humphris, Adam Conover (inc.), and Kevin L. Miller.

The announcement noted that “WGAW internal rules require candidates to be announced in an order determined by lot; (inc.) denotes an incumbent candidate.” It was also mentioned that “Dante W. Harper (inc.). withdrew his candidacy on July 22.”

Guild members will receive voting materials on Friday, August 29. These materials will include links to candidate statements and any non-candidate or rebuttal statements. Candidates may distribute additional campaign materials at their own expense. The voting period concludes on Tuesday, September 23 at 12:00 p.m. PT. Members can vote online or request a paper ballot to vote by mail. Proxy voting is not permitted according to labor law.
