Workers at Universal Promotions in Chicago have chosen to join Teamsters Local 710, aligning with a growing national trend among print graphics workers seeking union representation. The decision was driven by the desire for a stronger voice in workplace matters and the benefits that come with a Teamsters contract.

Cecilia Sandoval, an E-store and inventory controller at Universal Promotions, expressed her enthusiasm about the new representation. “With Teamsters representation, we will have a real say over how we’re treated on the job,” she stated. “We’re excited to negotiate a contract that guarantees we’re treated with respect.”

The group of 25 workers provides various services including graphic design, embroidery, engraving, and screen printing. Their aim in joining Local 710 is to secure better wages, improved benefits, and more favorable work rules.

Mike Cales, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 710, welcomed the new members. “On behalf of every member of Local 710, I am happy to welcome these new Teamsters to our union,” he said. “Workers across the graphics industry are recognizing that joining the Teamsters Union is the best way to ensure they have the strong representation that guarantees them fair treatment.”

Teamsters Local 710 represents thousands of workers from diverse industries across Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. More information can be found at Teamsters710.com.
