UNITE HERE endorses State Senator Ghazala Hashmi for Lieutenant Governor in Virginia’s Democratic primary. The hotel, airport, and food service workers union has more than 8,000 members in Virginia.

We’re excited to endorse her candidacy, and we look forward to helping share her message with voters through our organizing efforts.”
State Senator Ghazala Hashmi expressed gratitude for the endorsement. “I am honored to earn an endorsement from UNITE HERE and be the first and only labor-endorsed candidate in the race for Lieutenant Governor,” she said. “With Trump and Musk relentlessly attacking working Americans, the need for leaders who will fight for our working class and protect our rights has never been stronger. I look forward to working with UNITE HERE to share my track record of standing up for labor rights in the face of MAGA extremists with voters across Virginia.”
The endorsement by UNITE HERE comes with a pledge to mobilize support for Senator Hashmi’s campaign throughout the Commonwealth.
UNITE HERE represents 300,000 workers across industries in the United States and Canada, with a diverse membership primarily composed of women and people of color.
The endorsement is paid for by Workers Vote, authorized by Ghazala Hashmi, candidate for Lieutenant Governor.
