UNITE HERE, the union representing hospitality workers, has expressed its stance on the taxation of tips. The organization emphasizes the importance of tips for its members.

Gwen Mills, President of UNITE HERE International Union, stated, “We improve workplace standards for millions of tipped workers across North America, union and non-union alike.”

Nia Winston, Secretary-Treasurer of UNITE HERE International Union, commented on the recent developments regarding tax policies: “We support No Tax on Tips. But we are disappointed that ‘No Tax on Tips’ became ‘Some Tax on Tips.’ If tax breaks will be capped for tipped workers, then they should also be capped for the rich. Put all workers first. We call on Congress to put aside party differences and work together to get this one right for the working class.”

The union is calling for equitable treatment in tax policy adjustments affecting tipped workers and urges bipartisan cooperation in Congress.
