Members of Teamsters Local 104 employed at Finley Distributing have unanimously voted to authorize a strike. The decision follows an unresolved contract negotiation, with union representatives citing the company’s failure to offer satisfactory terms that reflect workers’ contributions to business success.

Karla Schumann, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 104, stated: “Our members have sent a loud and clear message to this greedy company that we will not settle for anything less than the wages, benefits, and working conditions we deserve. If management refuses to get serious at the bargaining table, we are ready to do whatever it takes to hold them accountable. It’s time for Finley to deliver the contract our members have earned.”

Finley Distributing services more than 1,700 licensed retailers across Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz counties with products that include beer, hard seltzers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Brands distributed by Teamsters include Coors, Miller, Truly, White Claw, and BuzzBallz.

Long-time employee and Local 104 shop steward Mike Killion emphasized workers’ demands: “All we’re asking for is the ability to take care of our families and retire with dignity — the same dignity every working person deserves. I’ve dedicated more than two decades to this company. It’s time they recognize that hard work and loyalty with a fair contract.”

Union members are asking for improved wages, a defined-benefit pension plan, better health care, and improved working conditions. Without a satisfactory agreement, a strike will commence after the current contract expires at midnight on May 17.

Teamsters Local 104 represents workers across Arizona. Further details can be accessed at teamsterslocal104.com or via Facebook at facebook.com/ibtlu104.
