TCGunion-CWA Local 1123 has announced the ratification of a settlement with eBay subsidiary TCGplayer. This agreement follows the company’s decision to close its Syracuse-based Authentication Center, which will result in the loss of numerous union jobs.

The union’s statement highlighted that after several days of negotiations and pressure from a boycott, they secured an improved severance package for affected workers. The package includes 20 weeks of severance pay, an additional $2.50 per hour above current wages for those within the bargaining unit, six months of COBRA medical coverage paid by the company, seven months of continued mental health benefits, and a $1,250 ratification bonus.

The union expressed gratitude for the support received from the TCG community and emphasized the importance of worker organization during times of inequality. They noted their success in challenging a large corporation and reaffirmed their commitment to fighting for workers’ rights.

In closing their statement, TCGunion-CWA reflected on eBay’s decision to shut down operations at the center as a means to avoid unionization but remained resolute in advocating for worker rights across locations such as Syracuse and Louisville.
