SAG-AFTRA responds to President Trump’s entertainment industry plan

SAG-AFTRA has issued a statement regarding President Trump’s recent plan for the entertainment industry. Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, the National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator of SAG-AFTRA, expressed support for initiatives aimed at boosting movie, television, and streaming production within the United States.

“SAG-AFTRA supports efforts to increase movie, television and streaming production in the United States. We will continue to advocate for policies that strengthen our competitive position, accelerate economic growth and create good middle class jobs for American workers,” stated Crabtree-Ireland.

The organization is eager to gain further insights into the specifics of President Trump’s plan. “We look forward to learning more about the specifics of the plan announced by the President and to advancing a dialogue to achieve our common goals,” he added.

SAG-AFTRA represents around 160,000 professionals across various roles in entertainment and media. The union’s members include actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, dancers, DJs, news writers, editors, program hosts, puppeteers, recording artists, singers, stunt performers, voiceover artists among others. As an affiliate of AFL-CIO with offices in Los Angeles and New York as well as local offices nationwide, SAG-AFTRA works towards securing robust protections for its members in the evolving landscape of entertainment and media.
