SAG-AFTRA has announced the beginning of its wages and working conditions (W&W) process as it prepares for negotiations on the Producer–SAG-AFTRA Codified Basic Agreement and the SAG-AFTRA Television Agreement. These contracts, collectively known as the TV/Theatrical Contracts, are set to expire on June 30, 2026.

The union is inviting members to participate in shaping proposals for these upcoming negotiations by sharing their experiences and priorities. As part of this effort, SAG-AFTRA will host a national presentation titled “The Landscape of Live-Action Scripted Dramatic Entertainment” to help members understand current industry conditions that will influence contract talks.

The presentation will be held twice via Zoom: first on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon PT (1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET), and again on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the same times. Participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement before joining.

Following these presentations, SAG-AFTRA plans to hold local W&W meetings and national stakeholder caucuses through mid-January. These sessions are designed to give members multiple opportunities across the country to contribute input regarding issues such as safety on set, artificial intelligence provisions, and compensation.

Members unable to attend can submit proposal recommendations by email until Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

“The W&W process is where our collective strength begins. Whether it’s provisions that concern safety on set, A.I. or compensation, every improvement starts with member input. Your insight and experience are vital to ensuring that SAG-AFTRA continues to lead and protect performers across all platforms,” according to the announcement.

Participation in these events is limited to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing through October 31, 2025 or April 30, 2026; parents or guardians of performers under age 18 may also attend.

For more information about meeting dates and topics as they become available in mid-November, members are encouraged to check their email or visit sagaftra.org/contracts2026.
