The negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the Joint Policy Committee (JPC) have successfully concluded, resulting in the SAG-AFTRA National Board approving the tentative 2025 SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contracts. The contracts are now set for membership ratification with a voting deadline of May 21.

This agreement aims to provide a balance between economic and benefit improvements for performers while offering advertisers and producers the flexibility and innovation required in today’s rapidly changing media landscape. The parties involved worked collaboratively to modernize the contracts to suit current media consumption and production practices.

Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, the SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator, stated: “Reaching this deal required a shared understanding of where our industry is headed and what working performers need most. The result is forward-thinking contracts that deliver real wage growth, cutting-edge A.I. guardrails and stronger benefits. I commend the collaboration that brought us to this point and look forward to our members reviewing the terms and casting their votes.”

Stacy Marcus, the Joint Policy Committee Chief Negotiator from DLA Piper, said: “Negotiators on both sides worked diligently to create contracts that reflect current industry realities while anticipating future challenges. The terms support continued innovation in advertising while honoring the contributions of performers. We value the constructive partnership with SAG-AFTRA and look forward to moving ahead together.”
