In a recent vote, members of SAG-AFTRA have approved the 2025 SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract and the 2025 SAG-AFTRA Audio Commercials Contract with a strong majority of 96.90% in favor. The new agreements, negotiated with the Joint Policy Committee, LLC on behalf of major advertisers and agencies, promise $218.4 million in additional earnings and benefits for members. This figure nearly doubles the projected gains from the 2022 contract.

The contracts include provisions for informed consent and compensation related to A.I., increased fees for streaming use, better health and pension contributions, as well as enhanced protections for minors and deceased performers.

SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher praised the agreement: “I applaud SAG-AFTRA members for remaining engaged throughout the process of achieving these contracts… I couldn’t be happier about these A.I. protections and essential streaming pay increases.” She extended her thanks to those involved in negotiations, including Co-Chairs Erin Fritch and Katie Von Till.

Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator, highlighted the forward-looking nature of the deal: “SAG-AFTRA members can now enjoy the gains from this forward-looking agreement that addresses the continuing growth of streaming… My gratitude goes out to our stalwart Commercials Negotiating Committee.”

Votes were collected online and via mail-in ballot by Integrity Voting Systems. The deadline was May 21 at 5 p.m. PT. Prior to member voting, the SAG-AFTRA National Board had reviewed and overwhelmingly approved the agreements on April 27.

SAG-AFTRA represents approximately 160,000 professionals across various entertainment fields. As an affiliate of AFL-CIO, it has offices nationwide focused on securing strong protections for its members.
