OPEIU has announced its recognition of the contributions made by veterans on Veterans Day. The organization highlighted that there are 1.6 million union veterans in the United States, with some states having more than a quarter of their working veterans as union members. Many of these individuals participate in the AFL-CIO’s Union Veterans Council, which works to support the economic interests of veterans through union membership.
“Veterans play an integral role at every level of the labor movement and we are proud to honor them this Veterans Day,” OPEIU stated.
