The New Jersey Education Association’s political action committee (NJEA PAC) has announced its initial round of endorsements for the 2025 state legislative elections, scheduled for November 4. The 125-member committee endorsed a mix of Republican and Democratic candidates based on their positions supporting public education and labor issues important to NJEA members and their families.
“Screenings will continue through the summer and early fall before the full NJEA PAC meets in September,” the organization stated.
On July 24, several candidates received endorsements from NJEA PAC. These include Assemblyman Cody Miller (D) and Assemblyman Dan Hutchinson (D) in Legislative District 4; Assemblyman William Moen (D) and Assemblyman William Spearman (D) in District 5; Assemblyman Lou Greenwald (D) and Assemblywoman Melinda Kane (D) in District 6; among others. In addition to Democrats, some Republicans such as Assemblyman Brian Rumpf (R) in District 9, Assemblywoman Vicky Flynn (R) in District 13, Assemblywoman Nora Dunn (R) in District 25, Assemblyman Al Barlas (R), and Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips (R) in District 40 also received endorsements.
NJEA members across the state are participating in screening committees for both assembly and gubernatorial races. These committees will present their recommendations to the NJEA PAC Operating Committee during its September meeting.

Below is a list of additional endorsed candidates so far: In Legislative Districts 3 through 40, multiple incumbents and new candidates from both major parties have been endorsed by the organization.
The full list of endorsements is available from NJEA. The process reflects ongoing participation by educators who are reviewing candidate records on education policy as well as labor matters that affect schools throughout New Jersey.
