New addition to IEA’s business office enhances financial oversight capabilities

Lori Benfiet has recently joined the Idaho Education Association (IEA), bringing with her a wealth of experience to the union’s business office. As a member of the department, Benfiet will focus on accounts payable and assist with membership processing, both essential functions for the smooth operation of the organization.

Benfiet’s professional background includes a significant tenure at Living Independent Network, where she was responsible for preparing financial statements, overseeing contracts, and monitoring the internal policies and procedures. Her previous experience also includes work at LEAP Housing, an Idaho-based nonprofit dedicated to housing and stability issues.

“My career has mostly been working with nonprofits in some financial capacity,” Benfiet shared. “I enjoy helping organizations grow and be successful.”

Living in Idaho for more than two decades, Benfiet resides with her spouse, two sons, and two dogs.
