The National Education Association (NEA) has reiterated its stance against antisemitism and emphasized its commitment to the safety and inclusion of Jewish educators and students. NEA President Becky Pringle stated, “The National Education Association has opposed antisemitism throughout its history and is deeply committed to ensuring the safety and inclusion of Jewish educators and students.”
Pringle highlighted that the NEA provides resources and supports educator workshops focused on Holocaust education, antisemitism, and promoting understanding of Jewish culture, heritage, and history. She explained that these efforts are part of NEA’s ongoing commitment to teaching about Holocaust history.
Pringle clarified that a recent document is not intended as a classroom handbook but is a compilation of over 100 new business items adopted by the NEA last year. These items include calls to stand against antisemitism, promote Holocaust remembrance and education, and highlight content for Jewish American Heritage Month.
The NEA represents more than 3 million individuals in various educational roles across the United States.
