The National Maritime Center (NMC) has introduced two new online tools to assist mariners and industry stakeholders. These tools, available on the NMC website, are designed for Mariner Credential Application Status and Mariner Credential Verification.

The Mariner Credential Application Status tool enables users to receive application status updates via email. To access this service, users need to provide the mariner’s last name, reference number, and a valid email address. The application status data is updated from Monday through Friday by 8:00 a.m. EST.

The Mariner Credential Verification tool offers credential verification results for merchant mariner credentials and medical certificates via email. Users must provide similar information as required for the application status tool. Once submitted, users can perform additional verifications if needed. This data is also updated from Monday through Friday by 8:00 a.m. EST.

For further details or to use these tools, individuals are encouraged to visit the NMC website. For questions or assistance, contact the NMC Customer Service Center during business hours using live chat, email at [email protected], or phone at 1-888-IASKNMC (427-5662).

“We are committed to providing you with exceptional service and hope these new tools offer added convenience and efficiency to our mariner community,” stated Patrick A. Drayer, Captain of the U.S. Coast Guard and Officer in Charge of Marine Inspection.
