Washington, D.C. – On May 26, 2025, Sean McGarvey, President of North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU), released a statement in honor of Memorial Day.

“This Memorial Day, NABTU honors the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our nation. We salute their sacrifice with deep gratitude and stand with all who serve and have served. Their courage is a solemn foundation of our democracy and a powerful reminder of the cost of liberty,” McGarvey stated.

He further emphasized the values these service members fought to protect: “As we reflect, we reaffirm our commitment to the values they fought to protect — freedom, unity, and resilience. May their memory continue to guide our nation’s purpose and strengthen the resolve of our democracy.”
