The Department of Professional Employees, in collaboration with five Arts, Entertainment, and Media Industry (AEMI) unions, has launched a website specifically for the union artists and arts workers of the Kennedy Center. This platform aims to highlight the contributions of the more than 1,500 professionals involved in delivering over 2,200 live performances annually at the National Cultural Center.

According to the unions, “solidarity is crucial” in maintaining the Kennedy Center’s status as a prominent cultural venue. Union workers contribute significantly to various roles, including onstage performers, backstage crew, orchestra members, and rehearsal staff.

The newly launched website is designed to be a central repository of information for both workers and their supporters. The unions have encouraged those interested to “stay informed and join the mailing list,” reflecting a commitment to transparency and community engagement within the institution.

The effort underscores the vital role played by the professionals who power the Kennedy Center’s diverse array of events. The website aims to provide insights and updates directly from the unions involved.
