Thousands of locomotive engineers at CSX Transportation have approved a new contract. These workers are represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) under the Teamsters Rail Conference.

“It’s an honor to congratulate our members at CSXT for earning this hard-fought contract,” stated Mark Wallace, President of the BLET and the Teamsters Rail Conference. He highlighted that adding paid sick days without concessions was a significant achievement for the union.

The 3,500 CSXT locomotive engineers will receive salary increases totaling 18.77 percent throughout the agreement’s duration, along with five additional sick days per year and enhanced work rules.

“The gains our members secured in this contract were a long time coming,” said Randy Fannon, Vice President of the BLET. He emphasized that years of negotiations have resulted in fair treatment for their members.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, established in 1903, represents over 1.3 million individuals across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. More information can be found on their website or social media platforms.
