Working in the field, craftsmen demonstrate dedication and pride as Boilermakers. Their commitment has left a lasting impression on many, including those who have risen through the ranks from apprentices to leadership positions. Among them is the President of the Montana State Building Trades Council, who emphasizes the power of unity and dedication within the union.

International President Simmons and the International Executive Council are committed to harnessing this power. “We see a clear vision in harnessing the power of our union—the power of our unity,” they stated. This vision includes strengthening the organization by increasing member engagement through political campaigns, building alliances with other unions, encouraging community involvement, and enhancing digital communications.

Providing resources for political activism is seen as crucial. “Too many Boilermakers have shrunk away from our union’s duty to political involvement—adding our labor voices to impact our work and our union rights,” said a representative.

Building stronger alliances with labor unions and advocacy groups will form a united front on labor issues. Collaboration on joint initiatives is expected to amplify collective impact. Enhancing digital presence through social media will engage a broader audience and raise awareness about union activities.

The focus areas include:

– Member Engagement: Encouraging participation in political campaigns and community events.
– Alliances: Forming strong coalitions with other unions and organizations.
– Digital Platforms: Expanding online campaigns to reach wider audiences.
– Public Relations: Educating the public about union efforts through media relationships.
– The M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund: Strategically allocating resources for marketing, organizing, recruitment, and employment.

The M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund aims to increase membership and man-hours by promoting the Boilermakers union and creating job opportunities for skilled workers. The initiative has already seen success, with plans for expansion under Tim Simmons’ leadership.

Together with Simmons and the full International Executive Council, there is a commitment to shaping a resilient future for the Boilermakers union by focusing on strengthening it and leveraging strategic initiatives like the M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund.
