The top three officers of the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) gathered at the organization’s international headquarters for a series of meetings. The purpose was to continue planning for the 61st International Convention, which is scheduled to take place in New York City this August.
International President John Costa, International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo, and International Secretary-Treasurer Ken Kirk led these discussions. They were joined by other members of the international staff. The meetings focused on various aspects of the convention, including committees, resolutions, events, and activities.
The ATU emphasized that this work is crucial as it brings together leaders from across North America. The convention aims to set a strategic vision for the union to empower transit workers and riders while addressing industry challenges.
