Thank you for choosing the APWU Health Plan as your health insurance provider. The plan has been designed specifically for postal families, offering not just claims coverage but also a platform to encourage healthy lifestyles. This Open Season, over 2,500 new members were enrolled, and currently, the plan covers almost 174,000 lives. With the introduction of the Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) program, APWU members had many choices available to them. “Thank you for trusting us,” states the organization. The union emphasizes that continued loyalty and new membership have a direct impact on its ability to organize.

The APWU Health Plan offers strong benefits and affordable rates while prioritizing service and quality. Represented by OPEIU Local 2 and SEIU 32BJ unions, the Customer Service team undergoes ongoing training to effectively communicate plan benefits. They aim to provide a positive experience with patience and empathy. Members are encouraged to contact Customer Service if they have any questions about their health plan.

High Option members can call 800-222-2798; Consumer Driven Option members can call 855-808-3003.

A recent independent audit conducted by Mercer ranked the APWU Health Plan among the highest in PSHB in three categories: payment accuracy at 99.18%, financial accuracy at 99.63%, and administrative accuracy at 100%. These results surpass the Office of Personnel Management’s goal of 98%. The high scores indicate fewer errors, faster claims processing times, and greater peace of mind for members.

As members begin their first 100 days of coverage for the 2025 benefit year, feedback is welcomed to understand member experiences better. Members are invited to share what works well and any challenges faced by taking a short survey available at hcsurvey.apwuhp.com.
