As Labor Day approaches, the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) is encouraging its members to participate in parades and events that mark the holiday. Labor Day is recognized as a time when union members across the United States come together to celebrate their collective achievements, remember the history of the labor movement, and focus on future goals.

AGMA has announced ongoing updates to its Labor Day 2025 webpage, which will provide information about confirmed events in different AGMA Areas. The organization suggests that members interested in joining these celebrations can use this resource to find local parades, rallies, breakfasts, picnics, or other community gatherings.

Members looking for a comprehensive list of Labor Day activities nationwide are directed to visit the AFL-CIO’s official Labor Day site at https://aflcio.org/laborday.

A significant AGMA presence is planned for the New York City Labor Day Parade on Saturday, September 6. “We look forward to marching in strength and solidarity with our union siblings across the labor movement, and we hope you’ll join us!” states AGMA. Members based in or near New York who wish to participate are encouraged to register online at https://www.musicalartists.org/register-for-the-nyc-labor-day-parade/.

AGMA also plans to send additional location-specific updates via email as more details become available. Members planning to attend any Labor Day event are invited to contact Don Cavanaugh at [email protected] or [email protected] for assistance connecting with others or getting set up.
