Today, the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) observed May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, by expressing support for workers globally who are advocating for dignity, safety, fair wages, and inclusion.

AGMA acknowledges the contributions of its artists to their communities, emphasizing their roles both on stage and behind the scenes. “We are workers. We are union members. And we are part of a global movement that believes in the power of collective action,” an AGMA representative stated.

The organization recognized the legacy of union performing artists who have paved the way for current and future generations. “Together, we imagine a world where the Arts can truly thrive because artists and all workers are treated with respect.”

AGMA President Ned Hanlon has also shared a special May Day message, available with closed captions, underscoring the union’s commitment to solidarity with workers worldwide.

The message concluded with a reminder: “Solidarity today and always.”
