AGMA and Voices of Ascension have announced a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The contract, ratified by AGMA members and approved by the AGMA Board of Governors on June 23, 2025, includes several key improvements.
The agreement features a 15% wage increase over its duration. It also introduces a Seasonal Chorus List for job security and enhances health, safety, and equity protections. AGMA emphasized the partnership between labor and management in achieving this agreement.
Key contract highlights include annual pay raises of 5% for all artists and similar increases in recording session rates. A new Seasonal Chorus List will guarantee at least two offers per season to artists on the list. A formal audition process will be implemented with clear guidelines.
A Joint Advisory Committee will be formed to participate in leadership transitions, attending at least one board meeting per season.
The agreement mandates that VOA must negotiate with AGMA before using artificial intelligence and ensures notification in case of data breaches.
Expanded anti-discrimination protections now cover all statuses recognized under federal, state, and local law. Secure dressing rooms are guaranteed at performance venues.
General improvements include updated information sharing between VOA and AGMA about artists, earlier notifications for performance attire, virtual arbitration options, and clarified rules for delegate elections.
In contemporary productions, extra rehearsal time will involve consultation with the Joint Committee. Reduced study time rates apply if preparation exceeds certain hours to maintain financial feasibility.
