AGMA has announced the formation of the AGMA Pride Caucus, a new initiative aimed at supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied members within the union. This member-led space is designed to foster solidarity across various boundaries and advocate for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights within AGMA signatories and the broader performing arts industry. The caucus will particularly focus on addressing the needs of trans and non-binary members.

Danielle Buonaiuto and AGMA Governor Elliott Encarnación, co-organizers of the AGMA Pride Caucus, stated, “We envision this caucus as a space of care, resistance, and progress, grounded in shared values, mutual respect, and accountability.” They emphasized that queer members and allies will collaborate to create safe and inclusive workplaces. “Joining the AGMA Pride Caucus means becoming part of a collective force within AGMA committed to advancing dignity, equity, and justice across our institutions.”

The kickoff meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, at 3:30 p.m. ET. During this inaugural session, attendees will discuss the caucus’s vision and structure while connecting with fellow members to brainstorm future initiatives.
