The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Honolulu Branch is inviting applications for its Career and Leadership Development Grant. This initiative aims to support working women in Hawaiʻi by providing financial assistance for professional growth opportunities.

The grant offers up to $4,000 per applicant, with an additional $2,000 available through AAUW Maui for applicants from Maui. This year, the focus is on funding professional development conferences and career advancement opportunities.

“The AAUW aims to ease the burden of career-related expenses and encourages women to pursue transformative experiences,” the organization stated. The grant can cover various expenses such as trade certifications, conference registration fees, airfare, and accommodation costs. However, it does not cover academic conferences or tuition for degree programs.

Eligible applicants must reside or work in Hawaiʻi and must not have received this grant before. No membership with AAUW is required to apply. Applications are open until September 15, 2025.

Applicants need to submit a completed online form, a resume or CV in PDF format, an itemized budget, and proof of acceptance or registration in the event or program they wish to attend. Notifications will be sent approximately four to six weeks after the deadline.

All funds awarded must be utilized by June 30, 2026.
